Field Marshal Asim Munir stresses on strengthening defence relations with Libya

Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, during an official visit to Libya on Tuesday, stressed upon strengthening defence relations with Libya.

According to the ISPR, the CDF was welcomed with a guard of honour, by the Libyan Armed Forces, upon his arrival.

He met with Field Marshal Khalifa Belqasim Haftar, commander-in-chief of the Libyan Arab Armed Forces, and Lt General Saddam Khalifa Haftar, deputy commander-in-chief. They discussed how to strengthen military cooperation between Pakistan and Libya. They also talked about shared interest and strategic cooperation in regional security dynamics.

They also highlighted the importance of collaboration in training in efforts to curb terrorism from both countries.

Field Marshal Haftar commended the professionalism of the Pakistan’s  armed forces and looked forward to working together to strengthening defence engagement between Pakistan and Libya.
