Four members of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) involved in the suicide attack at the Judicial Complex in Islamabad have been apprehended in a joint operation conducted by Intelligence Bureau Division and the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD).

According to a statement, during interrogation, one of the suspects, Sajidullah alias Sheena, confessed to handling the suicide bomber involved in the attack.

He told investigators that TTP/ Fitna al-Khawarij Commander Saeed-ur-Rehman alias Daadullah, a resident of Charmang, Bajaur but currently living in Afghanistan, and serving as TTP’s Intelligence Chief for Nawagai, Bajaur, contacted him through the Telegram application to carry out a suicide attack in Islamabad to cause maximum casualties of law-enforcement agencies.

Dadullah sent photos of the suicide bomber, identified as Usman alias Qari, so Sajidullah could receive him once he crossed into Pakistan. Usman, reportedly from the Shinwari tribe and a resident of Achin district in Nangarhar, Afghanistan, was brought to a suburban area of Islamabad where he stayed until the day of the attack.

Investigators added that Sajidullah recieved a suicide vest from Akhun Baba graveyard in Peshawar on Dadullah’s instructions and transported it to Islamabad. On the day of the bombing, he personally helped the attacker put on the vest.

Security officials claim that TTP’s senior leadership in Afghanistan was guiding the network at every stage. They say the entire cell responsible for the attack has now been dismantled, and more developments are expected as the investigation continues.

Authorities believe additional arrests may follow as they track the group’s remaining contacts and facilitators.
