Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has urged overseas Pakistanis to remit funds through the Bank of Khyber, underscoring the importance of reinforcing financial institutions for economic stability.

During the inauguration of the bank’s Islamic banking service, Gandapur commended the initiative, asserting that an interest-free banking framework is vital for economic advancement.

“A robust financial system is essential for any nation or province. Prioritizing the fortification of our institutions is imperative,” he remarked.

The chief minister also pointed out the province's economic achievements, noting that K-P is successfully meeting its targets in accordance with International Monetary Fund (IMF) stipulations.

“Investors will benefit from government incentives, and these initiatives will bolster confidence in both the Bank of Khyber and our administration,” he stated.

Ikramullah Khan, Chairman of the Bank of Khyber, also addressed the audience, revealing plans to expand Islamic banking branches nationwide in line with the guidelines set by the State Bank of Pakistan.

In response to security issues, Gandapur announced an allocation of Rs2 billion for the installation of CCTV cameras and security checkpoints.

“We will not retreat. Those accountable for unrest will face consequences, and we are determined to eradicate terrorism entirely,” he declared.

The chief minister also addressed the persistent tensions in Kurram district, alleging that external forces are taking advantage of the situation.

He reiterated the government's commitment to resolving the issue through both dialogue and decisive measures.

Previously, PTI founder Imran Khan had urged overseas Pakistanis to refrain from sending remittances.
