Mir Raza case: Father says family has confidence in new investigation team

KARACHI: The father of young businessman Mir Raza, Hussain, has said that the family has confidence in the newly constituted investigation team probing his son's death.

Speaking to the media, Hussain said Sindh Home Minister and Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab had visited the family the previous day and discussed the formation of a judicial commission.

“We told them that we would consider the proposal and respond after giving it some thought. At present, we have confidence in the new investigation committee,” Mir Raza's father said.

He said Aamir Farooqi was a police officer of good repute and expressed hope that the investigation team would uncover the truth.

Hussain also raised questions over the disappearance of his son's business partner, saying police had so far questioned him only once.

He further claimed that the family had not been informed about the progress of the investigation involving employees of a guesthouse in Gulistan-e-Jauhar.

“The CCTV footage from the guesthouse has still not been made available,” he said.

The family has previously expressed concerns over the circumstances surrounding Mir Raza's death, while the investigation into the case remains under way.
