Apple iOS 26.6.1 software patch expected to address these issues

Apple has announced an emergency security update for its desktop OS. The tech company has rolled out macOS Tahoe 26.6.1, addressing a serious security flaw in the Screen Sharing application.

The point release addresses a security hole that could allow attackers present on the same local network to gain unauthorized access to a user's computer by bypassing authentication.

Moreover, the tech company has released security updates for its previous versions of operating systems, including macOS Sequoia and macOS Sonoma.

While doing this, Apple is simultaneously testing its new mobile update, iOS 26.6.1. As per visitor logs spotted by MacRumors, the software update is currently under internal testing and is expected to address the most significant bug in the Shortcuts application.

Following the release of iOS 26.6, Redditors have reported numerous problems with Shortcuts Automation across iPhones.

Generally, the feature allows performing a chain of commands based on predetermined conditions such as arriving at a certain place, launching a particular app, or reaching a certain battery threshold. The upcoming update is expected to bring back automation functionality.
