The government announced the launch of a mobile application and the shutdown of the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA)'s website.

The latest announcement was made by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Thursday, in which he stated that “we are going to shut down NADRA’s website and launch a mobile app in replacement.”

The ministry also decided to establish three regional offices: in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Gwadar, and Gilgit-Baltistan. These offices are expected to be operational by March 31.

The application will offer all the facilities currently available on the website.

The decision was made to protect citizens from fraud, as some unscrupulous individuals were deceiving innocent people into sharing their original documents under the pretext of providing legal financial assistance.

This act would prevent citizens, particularly overseas Pakistanis, from experiencing the inconveniences they face while using the website.

Naqvi stated that the Ministries of Interior and Foreign Affairs took strict actions against the counterfeits, who misuse the personal data or information of the citizens and the action is being taken against them with the collaboration of Nadra and other entities.

He mentioned that all database facilities, including the National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP), Pakistan Origin Card (POC), B-form, Family Registration Certificate (FRC), and other document-related services are available in the app. By using the NADRA mobile application, citizens can apply for all types of documents provided by the authority.
