Govt school, basic health unit blown up in KP's Tank

A government school and a basic health unit were blown up by militants in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Tank district late Sunday night, according to media reports.

The attack took place in the Chesan Kech area, where unidentified assailants allegedly used explosive material to target the Government Middle School for Boys and a Basic Health Unit (BHU) located within the limits of Saddar police station.

Citing sources, the reports said that the explosions caused extensive damage to both buildings. However, no casualties were reported as the facilities were unoccupied at the time of the attack.

Police and security officials reached the area soon after the blasts and began an investigation. Evidence was being collected from the sites while efforts were underway to trace those responsible.

The incident comes amid a rise in militant violence in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where insurgents have increasingly targeted public infrastructure, including schools, bridges, and healthcare facilities.
