Minister for Religious Affairs Chaudhry Salik Hussain has announced an extension of the deadline for Hajj applications until December 10.
He confirmed that all applications submitted by December 3 have been deemed successful.
Additionally, Chaudhry Salik Hussain indicated that all applications submitted under the sponsorship scheme have also been approved. A lottery will be conducted if the number of applications surpasses the allocated quota.
The Minister has urged overseas Pakistanis to ensure the payment of the sponsorship fee by December 10. Applications submitted under the sponsorship scheme will be considered successful without the need for a lottery.
Today marks the final day for submitting Hajj applications under the government scheme, with over 54,000 applications received nationwide thus far.
A total quota of 89,605 pilgrims has been designated for the Hajj scheme, allowing overseas Pakistanis to participate through sponsorships.
A spokesperson for the Ministry of Religious Affairs has indicated that it is anticipated the regular quota will be filled today.
The installment-based payment system associated with the regular Hajj scheme has resulted in a higher number of applications compared to previous years.
Once the applications are finalized, the schedule for Hajj flights will be established, and accommodations in Madinah will be arranged.
Preparations for housing, food, transportation, and Maktabs in Saudi Arabia will also be completed.
The draw for the government Hajj scheme is scheduled for December 6. During the initial six days of application submission, banks have received 15,844 applications from prospective Hajj pilgrims.
