Islamic scholar Dr Zakir Naik shared his approach to handling criticism during a recent interview with a local news channel in Pakistan.
The cleric said that he remains unfazed by criticism, saying, "If someone talks against me or even abuses me, I don't respond to it."
Dr Naik revealed his simple formula for dealing with criticism: "I tell my team, if there's any lesson for me in this criticism, let me know, but if it's just criticism, let it go."
He noted that many people speak against him, but he "harbours no issues with them".
When asked about interfaith discussions and inviting non-Muslims to Islam, the globally celebrated figure highlighted the importance of both.
"For me, debates between Muslims and inviting non-Muslims to religion are both important for reform, because Islam invites us to bring us to the truth, so both are important."
Dr Naik also stressed the significance of following the Holy Quran and Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
According to the 58-year-old preacher, even scholars who speak against him on his own stage do not ruffle Dr Naik's composure.
"Scholars are also surprised about what kind of person I am," he remarked.
