In a statement issued by the spokesperson, the IG warned that any negligence or carelessness during New Year celebrations could lead to the loss of precious lives, and advised citizens to act responsibly and cautiously.
He stressed that any suspicious activity should be immediately reported to the nearest police station or the police helpline, 15.
Extraordinary security arrangements have been put in place at sensitive locations, recreational areas, hotels, parks, and places of worship for the New Year.
IG Sindh added that police personnel have been deployed on roads, markets, and other key locations to ensure public safety, and that strict legal action will be taken against individuals involved in aerial firing without exception.
