The X (formerly Twitter) accounts of former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan and ex-foreign minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari have been blocked in India, as tensions between the two nations rise following the recent Pahalgam terror attack.

A message displayed on Bilawal Bhutto’s profile reads, "@BBhuttoZardari has been withheld in IN in response to a legal demand," linking to X’s compliance policy.

The action follows the blocking of several Pakistani celebrities’ social media accounts, including singer Atif Aslam, cricketers Shahid Afridi and Babar Azam, and actor Fawad Khan.

Instagram accounts of actresses Hania Aamir and Mahira Khan, along with other prominent figures like Ali Zafar, Sanam Saeed, Bilal Abbas, Momina Mustehsan, Iqra Aziz, Imran Abbas, and Sajal Aly, have also been restricted in India.

These developments come just days after the Indian government banned 16 Pakistani YouTube channels, including major news outlets such as Dawn News, Samaa TV, ARY News, and Geo News.

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting cited reasons including the dissemination of provocative, communally sensitive content and the spread of misinformation against India.
