Imran Khan becomes most followed Pakistani politician on Instagram with 10mln followers

Former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan has achieved a major digital milestone by crossing 10 million followers on Instagram, solidifying his status as the most followed Pakistani politician on the photo and video sharing platform.

With over 15,600 posts, Khan remains an active and influential figure on social media, despite his current political and legal challenges. His online popularity extends far beyond Instagram — he boasts more than 11.7 million followers on TikTok, 15 million on Facebook, and a remarkable 21.1 million on X (formerly Twitter), making him the most followed political personality in Pakistan across all major platforms.

Khan’s sustained digital reach continues to bolster his connection with a broad base of supporters, particularly younger audiences and online communities, who have long been central to PTI’s political strategy.

In contrast, other Pakistani politicians trail significantly behind. Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Sharmila Faruqi ranks as the second most followed politician on Instagram, while PTI’s Zartaj Gul Wazir holds third place.

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz occupies the fourth position with 816,000 Instagram followers, followed by Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed with 534,000, and Jahangir Khan Tareen, who has 517,000 followers.

The figures highlight Imran Khan’s unparalleled social media dominance in Pakistan’s political landscape, reflecting his continued influence and outreach even amid his absence from mainstream political activities.
