A significant development has emerged regarding the use of former Prime Minister and PTI founder Imran Khan’s ‘X’ account.
The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has decided to interrogate him once again, handing over a 21-point questionnaire. The inquiry will be conducted in light of his written responses.
According to sources, the agency has asked Imran Khan how his social media account remains active despite his incarceration. Another question seeks details about who operates the account and from where, and whether Khan acknowledges the posts made from his handle.
Investigators have also asked whether “anti-state” tweets are published with his consent. Despite meeting Imran Khan twice in jail, the NCCIA claims the PTI founder did not cooperate.
During the second meeting, he reportedly exchanged harsh words with the investigation team, after which the questionnaire was formally delivered.
Earlier, on May 14, an Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Lahore had granted permission for Imran Khan’s polygraphic (lie-detector) test in connection with the May 9 riots cases.
The police had sought both polygraphic and photographic tests to verify Khan’s statements.
However, Khan’s lawyer, Barrister Salman Safdar, strongly opposed the prosecution’s request, arguing that filing such an application two years later was based on malice.
Despite four visits by investigators to Adiala Jail, Imran Khan refused to undergo the polygraphic test.
