Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Sher Afzal Marwat revealed that the lawyers of former prime minister Imran Khan charge exorbitant fees in the crores, which are paid through donations from his supporters.

Speaking to journalists in Islamabad, Marwat discussed the expenses incurred by PTI's founder while in jail. He highlighted that the government spends millions of rupees for each day Imran Khan spends in prison.

Marwat mentioned that the lawyers take on cases at Imran Khan's discretion and charge extremely high fees, although he added, "I do not justify these fees in crores of rupees."

He explained that the donations come from the public or PTI members who contribute financially to support their leader.

Marwat also shared that Ali Amin Gandapur had paid Rs 700 million in lawyer fees over the past month. He emphasised the need for scrutiny of such spending, stating that lawyer fees should be properly accounted for.

Meanwhile, PTI leader Shaukat Yousafzai stated that the party would not back down from its two key demands and set a deadline of January 30 for the government to engage in negotiations.

Yousafzai outlined that PTI’s agenda for talks includes the release of all arrested workers and the formation of a judicial commission to investigate the events of May 9 and November 26.

He stressed that the talks would only proceed if these demands were met.

He further mentioned that the civil disobedience movement initiated by Imran Khan continues, and while the government committee’s actions have been serious, the movement could be reconsidered if the two demands are met. Otherwise, he warned, the movement would persist.
