Former prime minister Imran Khan's elder son, Kasim Khan, condemned the Punjab Police for allegedly manhandling his aunts during a crackdown on PTI’s sit-in outside Adiala Jail. He termed the police action a “fascist approach.”

Taking to X, Kasim Khan criticised Pakistan’s government and said such actions would not intimidate his family. “Attacking unarmed women, dragging them on the road, and unleashing police force in darkness is the behaviour of a regime terrified of accountability,” he said.

“This fascist approach will not break our family, and it will not silence the nation standing for justice,” he added.

Aleema Khanum’s son, Shahrez Khan, also condemned the mistreatment of his aunts and mother, saying they were peacefully sitting outside Adiala Jail, waiting to meet their brother.

“Absolutely disgraceful how my khala, Noreen Niazi, was treated by the police outside Adiala Jail. She was there with her sisters on the designated family-meeting day, yet they were still denied a meeting with their brother,” his post read.

A tense situation unfolded outside Adiala Jail on Tuesday when police detained several female members of former prime minister Imran Khan’s family during a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protest. The demonstration was held after the jail administration allegedly refused to allow the family their scheduled weekly meeting with Khan.

Imran Khan’s sister Noreen Khan was allegedly dragged on the road by police during a PTI protest outside Adiala Jail, where the former prime minister is currently incarcerated.

PTI officials said the party decided to stage a peaceful sit-in after the jail administration once again denied the family permission to meet him.

In a statement posted on X, PTI claimed, “Police violently detained Imran Khan's sisters, Aleema Khan, Noreen Niazi, and Dr Uzma Khan from where they were sitting peacefully outside Adiala Jail after yet again being denied their weekly visit with their brother.”

The party added that other members were also subjected to police violence. “KP provincial minister Meena Khan Afridi, MNA Shahid Khattak, and other party office holders and workers, including several women, were also subjected to violence and picked up by police,” the statement read.

A video shared by the PTI official account on X showed Aleema Khan, Noreen Niazi and Dr Uzma Khan being taken away by police. Visible marks could be seen on Noreen Niazi’s hands, which PTI said were caused when she was forcibly grabbed on the road.
