Imran Khan, the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), called upon Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faez Isa to constitute a judicial commission to probe the events of May 9, during which military installations were attacked.
Addressing reporters during the hearing of the £190 million reference, the ousted prime minister emphasized the need for the chief justice to address PTI's petition from May 25 and initiate a thorough investigation through a judicial commission into the incidents.
Khan pointed out the absence of any inquiry into the events thus far and highlighted the seriousness of withholding information, describing it as a criminal act.
He expressed dismay over the implication that PTI, as a political party, is being marginalized due to the May 9 incidents—when military sites, including the Corps Commander House in Lahore and the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi, were attacked following his arrest. Khan further urged authorities to release other party leaders while he remains detained, stating his willingness to remain in jail if necessary.
Additionally, he called for a comprehensive examination of the general elections held on February 8, questioning the Election Commission Pakistan's (ECP) authority to conduct investigations amidst allegations of electoral fraud.
