Imran Khan warns of Civil Disobedience Movement if demands not met

PTI founder and former prime minister Iman Khan has claimed that dictatorship has been established in the country, with state-sponsored violence resulting in the brutal killing of unarmed political activists.

According to a message released from Imran Khan's X account,  he alleged that hundreds of activists are missing, and despite previous attempts to seek justice through the Supreme Court, Lahore High Court, and Islamabad High Court, no action has been taken, leading the country to its current crisis.

The leader announced plans to hold a grand gathering in Peshawar on December 13 to pay tribute to the martyrs, inviting opposition political parties to join the event, the message read and emphasized the urgent need for constitutional action by the Supreme Court in response to the grave human rights violations.

Khan has also announced formation of a five-member negotiation committee to address two key demands:

The release of under-trial political prisoners and The establishment of a judicial commission to conduct transparent investigations into the events of May 9 and November 26.

The committee, which includes prominent figures such as Omar Ayub Khan, Ali Amin Gandapur, Sahibzada Hamid Raza, Salman Akram Raja, and Asad Qaiser, will engage with stakeholders to push for these demands.

If the government fails to meet these demands, a civil disobedience movement will begin on December 14, Imran Khan announced according to his message released from X account.

"As a result of civil disobedience, we will appeal to Pakistanis living abroad to limit remittances and launch a boycott campaign. We will go beyond this in the second phase of this movement!! ”
