Former prime minister Imran Khan's wife Bushra Bibi addressed PTI supporters in Islamabad’s Blue Area, highlighting the difficulties faced by Imran Khan during his imprisonment in Attock Jail. She asserted that “no leader in Pakistan has endured the level of mistreatment that Khan has experienced.”
She stated that family members were initially not allowed to meet Imran Khan, and when they finally saw him, "he had lost a lot of weight."
She further alleged that Khan was not provided adequate sleeping arrangements and was imprisoned in a "small, dirty cell," where he was forced to sleep on the floor.
“After our protests, he was given a charpoy, but it was broken in the middle,” she said, adding that Khan was provided only one bucket of water per day “for ablution and bathroom use.”
Bushra Bibi quoted Khan as saying, “Had there been any other leader, he would have given up, but I will live and die for my country so that I can answer to God that I did everything I could.”
She also alleged that Khan was later moved to a dark cell in Adiala Jail and claimed that she herself faced mistreatment during her time in Adiala, including food contamination.
"They mixed Harpic in my food in Adiala Jail," she said.
Urging PTI supporters to remain steadfast, she asked them to pledge not to leave D-Chowk until Imran Khan is released.
She assured them of her commitment, saying, “I will not leave D-Chowk without Imran Khan. Anyone who tells you that I have left the protest is lying.”
