Imran Khan, the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has written a second open letter to Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir, raising concerns over the alleged targeting of his political party.
In the letter, posted on his social media account, Khan criticized the response to his first letter to the army chief, calling it "irresponsible and non-serious."
Khan, who served as the country's prime minister and is the leader of PTI, reiterated his dedication to Pakistan, emphasising his transparency and long public service.
He expressed concerns about the widening gap between the military and the public, which he believes could harm the country's stability.
The PTI leader also claimed that the government was formed through "pre-poll rigging" and that laws like the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) were used to stifle dissent.
Further detailing his personal hardships, Khan described his conditions in prison, including solitary confinement and limited access to family and legal counsel.
He also highlighted the delay in bail hearings for over 2,000 PTI workers and leaders, calling it an effort to silence opposition.
Khan's latest letter follows a series of political confrontations and negotiations with the government and military.
PTI members have called for judicial commissions to investigate key events, including the May 2023 unrest.
Meanwhile, the government has dismissed Khan's letters as attempts to create divisions between the military and the public.
