ISLAMABAD: Aleema Khan, sister of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, has warned the government of severe consequences if their demands are unmet.
In a press conference, Aleema Khan criticized the government, saying that the PTI government was toppled, and millions of people have fallen below the poverty line, facing economic difficulties.
She stated that overseas Pakistanis are ready to stop sending remittances to the country if the government does not meet their demands.
Aleema Khan revealed that Imran Khan has two demands: the formation of a judicial commission comprising three senior Supreme Court judges to investigate the recent violence, and the release of innocent prisoners.
She warned that if these demands are not met, Imran Khan will appeal to overseas Pakistanis to stop sending remittances to the country.
Aleema Khan claimed that overseas Pakistanis have already started calling, saying they will stop sending remittances, but the party leaders have advised Imran Khan to wait, fearing the move could harm the country.
She quoted Imran Khan as saying that he is concerned about the country and will wait for a few days.
