Chief of Defence Forces Asim Munir said on Monday that India should not be under any illusion or assumption, next time Pakistan’s reaction will be swifter and severe.
GHQ Rawalpindi hosted a Guard of Honour ceremony for the Chief of Defence Forces, attended by all three service chiefs, who presented a salute to Field Marshal Asim Munir. The Chief of the Pakistan Air Force and Pakistan Navy were also present.
Addressing the ceremony, Field Marshal Asim Munir said that the fundamental change in the established Defence forces is historic.
While addressing officers of all three armed forces, Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir said that each service will maintain its own individuality in terms of operational preparedness. He added that the Defence Forces Headquarters will coordinate and harmonise the operations of all services, while the three forces will continue to uphold their internal autonomy and organisational structure.
Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir further added that India should not fall victim to any delusion or misconception, warning that Pakistan’s response next time would be more severe. He reaffirmed that Pakistan is a peace-loving nation, but no one will be allowed to undermine its sovereignty or territorial integrity, nor will anyone be permitted to test the country’s resolve. “No one should dare challenge our determination,” he said.
The Chief of Defence Forces also delivered a clear message to the Taliban regime, asserting that they have no option except to choose between supporting the fitna of the Khawarij or aligning with Pakistan; there is no middle ground. He added that the idea of Pakistan is unshakeable, protected by the unwavering faith and courage of its defenders and the steadfast resolve of a united nation.
