India did not participate in the traditional flag-lowering ceremony at the Wagah Border on Sunday, as Pakistani citizens turned out in large numbers to a national victory.
With no parade from the Indian Border Security Force (BSF), the Indian side of the border remained silent. In contrast, the Pakistani side saw thousands gather—despite ongoing stadium construction—to show solidarity with the Pakistan Rangers Punjab.
The atmosphere was charged with patriotism, as citizens chanted national slogans, waved flags, and showered flower petals on soldiers. Many attendees, including women and children, expressed pride in the armed forces, with some describing the day as a moment of national triumph.
Parade Commander Nasir highlighted past moments of military resilience, referencing the return of Indian pilot Abhinandan in 2019. Ranger personnel recounted stories of public support and family encouragement during recent tensions with India.
