Interior minister claims 11 KP police personnel arrested from Islamabad's D-Chowk

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has revealed that 11 police personnel were also arrested from Islamabad’s D-Chowk on Saturday amid PTI's protest.

Talking to the media, Naqvi said: “CM Gandapur was leading the attack on Islamabad.”

Indiscriminate action will be taken against all the miscreants, including KP CM, involved in the Islamabad attack, he added.

Earlier, Interior Ministry sources have categorically rejected the “baseless and misleading” reports claiming KP CM Gandapur was arrested from KP House in Islamabad.

On Friday, the govt deployed army in the federal capital for the security of VIP delegations, who will participate in the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Heads of Government meeting on October 15-16, the notification read.

In a notification issued by the interior ministry, the government announced that the military will be deployed in the federal capital to maintain law and order situation during the SCO summit. 

It is worth mentioning that PTI's protest in Islamabad continues for a second day.
