Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian is expected to undertake a one-day visit to Pakistan on Tuesday, according to diplomatic sources.
Sources indicate that the visit would mark President Pezeshkian’s first foreign trip following recent diplomatic understandings between Iran and the United States.
During the visit, the Iranian President is expected to hold meetings with President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
According to sources, discussions are likely to focus on ongoing peace efforts and the broader regional security situation.
Sources further stated that the visit is intended, in part, to convey Iran’s appreciation for Pakistan’s diplomatic engagement and role during the recent Iran–United States tensions.
However, neither the Pakistani nor the Iranian government has officially confirmed the visit.
The reported visit comes ahead of renewed diplomatic engagement following recent peace talks between Iran and the United States in the Swiss city of Bürgenstock.
According to reports, the first round of discussions concluded positively and focused on reducing regional tensions and exploring avenues for dialogue.
