Two Pakistani nationals were killed in Iraq after a teenage boy reportedly crashed his father’s car into a group of people while livestreaming his high-speed drive on TikTok.
According to Iraqi authorities and eyewitnesses, the crash occurred near Baghdad’s Al Shu’ala district.
A video circulating online showed the vehicle accelerating to more than 200 kilometres per hour before veering off the road and ploughing into pedestrians gathered by the roadside.
Witnesses said the teenager’s friends could be heard cheering and clapping moments before the car struck the group.
“I only heard the sound of the brakes and then the crash. My ear was injured — it needed eight stitches,” one survivor told local media.

The boy’s father reportedly told families of the victims that his son had taken the car keys without his permission.
The Pakistani embassy in Baghdad confirmed that it had lodged a legal complaint and appointed a representative to pursue the victims’ rights in court.
Authorities said the case remains under investigation as relatives of the dead and injured demand justice, describing the tragedy as a “TikTok stunt turned deadly.”
