A 5.4 magnitude earthquake that originated from the Hindu Kush region of Afghanistan rocked some regions of Pakistan on Wednesday, with tremors being felt in Islamabad, Peshawar, and many other regions of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, as per Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).

According to PMD, the earthquake happened at 12:51 pm. It had a depth of 187 kilometers. The epicenter of the earthquake was located in the Hindu Kush region of Afghanistan.

Earthquake tremors were experienced in Islamabad and its surrounding regions, Peshawar, Malakand, and some other districts of K-P, as per the report.

However, there was no report of any casualty or damage caused by the earthquake.

On the other hand, the United States Geological Survey (USGS) recorded a magnitude of 5.3 for the earthquake and located its epicenter 35 kilometers southwest of Jurm, Afghanistan.

Last week, a 4.0 magnitude earthquake hit the town of Dalbandin, Balochistan, whose epicenter was located 100 kilometers southwest of the town.

Previously in June, three individuals were hurt following the experience of earthquake tremors in the region of Barkhan, Balochistan, which instilled fear and panic among residents.

Furthermore, in May, some mild to moderate earthquakes rocked some regions of the country, with tremors being experienced in Islamabad, Khuzdar district of Balochistan, and Azad Jammu and Kashmir. No casualties or damages were reported.
