The Balochistan government has issued a notification appointing the Directorate General Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) as the Special Vetting Agency (SVA) for verification and screening purposes.
The move aims to ensure the integrity and security of key positions within the provincial government.
According to the notification, the ISI will be responsible for verifying and screening candidates for promotions to posts with a Basic Pay Scale (BPS) of 19 and above.
Additionally, fresh appointments to BPS-17 posts will also be subject to verification and screening by the SVA.
The competent authority will have the discretion to seek special verification and security clearance from the SVA for postings to sensitive positions, including Administrative Secretary, Divisional Commissioner, Head of Attached Department, and Deputy Commissioner.
Moreover, the authority can request reports on an officer's conduct from the SVA, either upon receipt of complaints or on its own initiative.
By leveraging the expertise of the spy agency, the government seeks to ensure that only qualified and trustworthy individuals hold key positions, ultimately contributing to the province's stability and development.
