Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan alleged that the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) is being used to topple his party.

The former prime minister's claims came during an informal conversation with the media after the hearing of a £190 million corruption case at Adiala Jail.

He alleged that the intelligence agency is pressuring judges, journalists, and even PTI members to conform to the government's narrative.

"They [government] have no power to negotiate," Khan said, adding that pressure is being put on the judges who gave decisions in favour of his party.

The 72-year-old politician cited the example of a Sargodha judge who told the Lahore High Court (LHC) about the secret agency's pressure tactics.

Putting weight behind his claims, he mentioned the case of PTI information secretary Rauf Hassan, who was attacked by transgender persons in Islamabad.

The ex-premier also expressed concern over the country's economic situation, saying that the federal budget has "broken the back" of the salaried class.

The veteran politico claimed that Pakistan has sunk so low that "it will only be saved by investment that comes from the rule of law".

According to Khan, the budget requires collecting a revenue of Rs13,000 billion, out of which Rs9,800 billion is to pay the interest on the debt.

Mr Khan also warned that he would no longer tolerate grouping within the party and would take tough action against it.

However, Imran Khan has not provided any evidence to prove his allegations against the country's top intelligence agency.
