Mustafa Amir's father seeks death penalty for Armaghan

Slain Mustafa Amir's father, Amir Shuja, urged the judiciary and higher authorities to conclude his son's murder case immediately and demanded that Armaghan be given the death penalty.

Mr Shuja described his son as a responsible, caring, and friendly individual who was killed brutally. "If I had my way, I would kill him [suspect Armaghan] in the same manner he murdered my son," he said. 

Amir Shuja added, "suspects should be hanged so they cannot destroy other people's homes."

Shuja expressed his pain as a father, describing how his son was murdered, charred, and left in a burnt car for six to seven days before being buried.

He appealed to the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Yahya Afridi, Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif, and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir to take action in the case, "as they also have children."

Expressing dissatisfaction with the stakeholders' roles, Shuja stated that "they were sleeping in their houses; not even a single councillor came to the house to condemn the incident." Shuja raised questions about the judiciary's handling of the case, noting that the suspects were being granted bail and short-term remands.

"This person should not be bailed; their case should not proceed slowly. It should be wrapped up immediately, as witnesses are available and he has confessed his crime."

However, Shuja expressed satisfaction with the AVCC and its investigation officer's efforts and urged others to assist them in providing justice. 

"He had many friends who missed him and staged protests for justice."
