Islamabad International Airport will face intermittent flight suspensions in August to facilitate parade rehearsals for Pakistan’s Independence Day celebrations.

According to a notification issued by the Pakistan Airports Authority, both arrivals and departures will be halted at specified intervals as part of heightened security and logistical arrangements.

A Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) stated that no flights will operate between 8 pm and 10 pm on August 11, 12, and 13. Additional suspensions have been scheduled at various times from August 6 to 9 and August 11 to 14, including a pause between 11 am and 1 pm on selected days.

Airlines have been directed to adjust their schedules to avoid operating during the restricted hours and to keep passengers informed. Authorities have urged travellers to confirm their flight timings in advance to avoid inconvenience.

The temporary closures are part of preparations for Pakistan’s 77th Independence Day, which will be marked with official ceremonies and security measures in the federal capital.
