Amid the opposition's protest, Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz addressed the budget session to detail the plans and accomplishments of the provincial government in its first 100 days.

The session was presided over by the Speaker Punjab Assembly Malik Ahmad Khan in attendance of government and opposition members.

"The extensive work accomplished by our government in its first 100 days cannot be encapsulated in a single speech," she started her address.

CM Maryam informed that the government has "presented the largest budget in the history of Pakistan and Punjab".

She further said that the budget was introduced with zero new taxes on the people of Punjab.

Punjab's first woman CM also mentioned that medicines that were previously stopped by the government of PTI in hospitals are now being provided to patients again.

She claimed that inflation is at its lowest level in many years in the province.

Despite the opposition's criticism, Maryam Nawaz remained confident, saying, "We will defeat the opposition with our performance."

Responding to the criticism by opposition PTI over her development work videos, CM Maryam said it requires hard work to make TikTok videos.

"I feel pity on them [opposition]. They criticise me for making TikTok. It takes hard work to make TikTok videos. Those who do work make TikTok [videos]," she took a jibe at PTI.

The budget session will continue in the coming days, with further discussions and debates on the provincial government's plans and initiatives.
