2 men hire 3 contract killers to murder JI worker in Karachi's Orangi, all arrested

The Karachi police claimed on Tuesday to have solved the murder case of a Jamaat-i-Islami worker by apprehending five suspects linked to the crime.
Waseem Siddiqui was shot dead on January 2, 2024, near Jamaat al-Muslimeen Mosque in Sector 7-B, Orangi town.
A case (06/2024) was lodged under Section 302 (premeditated murder) of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) on the complaint of the victim's brother at the Orangi police station.
West SSP Arif Aslam Rao formed a team, headed by the DSP Orangi division, to trace the culprits.
With technical support and human skill, the team successfully arrested three suspects, named Zafar (shooter), Sheikh Majid Ali (accomplice), and Ahad (motorbike rider), according to the police.
Additionally, two individuals who paid for the murder, Muhammad Waseem and Shahzeb, were also apprehended.
The police said the motive behind the crime was personal enmity as Waseem and Shahzeb were the victim's relatives. They promised the three killers an amount of Rs350,000 for his murder.
An amount of Rs80,000 was paid to the contract killers, out of which the police recovered Rs50,000 from their possession.
Crucial evidence was also found during the raid conducted to arrest them, including the weapon and motorcycle used in the crime and the victim's broken mobile phone.
The arrested suspects have been handed over to investigating officials for further legal proceedings.
One of the hired killers, Zafar, had a history of criminal activities, having been previously arrested and jailed under various charges, including explosives-related offenses and a case in 2019.
