Junaid Safdar, the son of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and Captain (retd) Safdar, is set to remarry a year after his divorce from his first wife, Ayesha Saif. He is expected to be engaged soon to the granddaughter of Nawaz Sharif's first cousin.
According to sources, the family of Junaid’s bride-to-be resides in Lahore.
Rumors of his second marriage began circulating about a month ago, and his rishta has now been finalised. Preparations for the nikah and engagement ceremonies are currently underway.
Junaid is reportedly getting married to the daughter of Usman Javed, who is the son of Javed Shafi, a first cousin of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
It is worth noting that Junaid Safdar previously married Ayesha Saif, daughter of Saifur Rehman Khan, a Qatar-based businessman and close aide of Nawaz Sharif, in 2021.
Their nikah ceremony was held at The Lanesborough in Knightsbridge, London.

However, Junaid's mother, Maryam Nawaz, could not attend the ceremony as her name was on the Exit Control List (ECL) during the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government.
Speculation about the couple’s separation emerged a few months after the marriage. Junaid later confirmed his divorce from Ayesha Saif through a social media post in October 2023.
A polo enthusiast, Junaid Safdar studied politics in the UK and returned to Pakistan in 2023 following his divorce to assist his mother in political activities.
He holds two master’s degrees, one in International Relations from the London School of Economics (LSE) and another in Global Governance and Ethics from University College London (UCL).
He completed his undergraduate studies at Durham University and later graduated from the University of Cambridge in 2022.
