The body of a boy who was swept away while swimming in a water pipeline in Karachi's Scheme 33 has been recovered after two days of search.

The child, identified as Zahid Mohammed Khan, went missing on Friday around 2pm when he was swimming in a water channel belonging to the Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation near Al-Azhar Garden in Scheme-33.

Rescue officials confirmed that the body had been found. According to Edhi officials, the boy was 12 years old. His body was later moved to the Edhi morgue in Sohrab Goth.

Search operations were carried out by Rescue 1122 lifeguards and Edhi teams until late Friday night, but they were unable to locate the child due to poor visibility, and the operation was temporarily halted.

On Saturday, rescue teams resumed the search with support from the district administration, covering two main points in Gulistan-i-Jauhar, near Samama Shopping Mall and Continental Bakery.
