Karachi police arrested six women, who were part of a gang involved in hypnotising people and entering their homes under various pretenses to steal valuables from their homes.

Senior Superintendent Police (SSP) Malir Dr Uzair Ahmed reported on Sunday that the gang had a history of robberies in Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Lahore, and other cities in Punjab.

The SSP also revealed that two affected families have identified these women. Victims reported that the robbers employed hypnosis tactics to incapacitate them before committing robbery.

The women would often approach victims by asking for a job and offering sewing services. They would distract the victims with various stories, while their male accomplices would enter and loot the homes.

The detained women have been identified as Sahiba (alias Hina), Babli Maqbool, Kaneez Farid, Sahiba Fatima, and Lubna Shah. Police recovered Rs4 million from their possession.

The gang would travel to Karachi to commit robberies, staying in cheap hotels in the Saddar area. After their crimes, they would return to their homes in Punjab.

According to SSP Malir, the job of the male members in the gang was to provide transport to the women.

Several cases have been filed against the gang in cities like Lahore, Khairpur, Sukkur, Karachi's Steel Town, and Bin Qasim Town.

Police are conducting raids to arrest the remaining members of the 25-member gang, who are still absconding.
