Karachi receives moderate to heavy rainfall

Several areas in Karachi experienced strong winds accompanied by rain, providing much-needed relief from the ongoing heatwave.
According to the Meteorological Department, rain was reported in areas such as Super Highway, Steel Town, Gulshan-e-Hadeed, Gadap Town, Malir, North Karachi, Gulshan-e-Maymar, Gulistan-e-Johar, and Gulshan-e-Iqbal, as reported by Express News.
Despite the showers, the temperature still reached a high of 39°C today, and forecasts suggest it could rise to 40°C on Friday and Saturday.
The Met Office has also indicated that Karachi's weather is expected to remain hot, very hot, and dry for the next four to five days.
Earlier today, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) had predicted light rain with thunderstorms in the outskirts of the city.
