The maximum temperature in Karachi is expected to range between 39°C to 40°C on Sunday, with the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) forecasting soaring temperatures across the region starting today.

Humidity levels in the coastal city currently stand at 72 percent, which could make the heat feel as high as 45°C, significantly higher than the actual air temperature. The PMD expects the weather in Karachi to remain hot and humid over the next 24 hours.

Winds are blowing from the southwest at a speed of 16 kilometres per hour, providing only mild relief to the coastal heat.

Elsewhere in the country, the Met Office has issued a caution for possible windstorms, hailstorms, and heavy rainfall in northern regions on Monday evening or night.

The warning applies particularly to parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Islamabad, the Potohar region, and northeastern Punjab, where partly cloudy conditions are expected along with potential wind or dust storms and localized downpours.

In Balochistan, weather in the northern and southeastern parts may also be affected by storm activity. Most other areas across the country are expected to experience hot and dry conditions.
