The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has said that temperatures in Karachi are expected to drop further, with a possibility of light rain in the city tomorrow.

According to the Met Office, humidity levels in the air currently stand at 76 per cent, while a westerly weather system may affect the city between Tuesday and Wednesday.

The department reported that light winds are blowing from the north-east. The maximum temperature in Karachi today is expected to range between 26 and 28 degrees Celsius.

The city’s minimum temperature was recorded at 12 degrees Celsius. Over the next 24 hours, weather conditions are likely to remain dry during the day and cold at night.

PMD spokesperson Anjum Nazir stated that light rain is expected in Karachi late on the night of 30 December. Rainfall is also forecast in parts of Hyderabad, Badin, Thatta, Mirpurkhas and Tharparkar.

He added that this spell of rain across the country is expected to continue until 2 January, with rainfall also anticipated in the plains of Punjab.

According to the spokesperson, snowfall may intensify in the upper regions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
