From the second week of January onward, the entire country, from Karachi to Kashmir, is expected to experience the first winter rains, as nature will form a cloud cover, according to weather expert Jawad Memon.
He predicted downpours from the second week of the new year. Not only rain but "upcoming systems would also cause a potential chill nationwide," he said while forecasting the weather updates.
By next week, suburban areas and the northern part of Karachi are anticipated to experience severe cold, with temperatures expected to drop by 6 to 9°C.
Memon further explained that strong weather systems with western winds are predicted to impact the region from the beginning of January, enhancing the rainfall potential across the country.
Additionally, a strong weather system is expected to hit during the last week of December, bringing a pronounced wave of winter on December 20, 21, and 22. He remarked that this could be the strongest winter wave of the year.
While December is not expected to bring rainfall, an icy chill will persist across the country, with some cities likely seeing temperatures drop below freezing.
