Last sunset of 2023; visuals from Islamabad's Margalla Road

Various parts of Pakistan witnessed the last sunset of 2023. The year that saw a lot of political happenings from Imran Khan's arrest to May 9 violence, from the dollar crossing the 300 mark against the Pakistani rupee IMF bailout package.

Senior journalist Hamid Mir shared a glimpse of the last sunset in Islamabad on his social media platform X.

"The last sunset of 2023 at Margalla Road, Islamabad," Mir captioned his video.

Islamabad Capital Police (Traffic Wing) have made an elaborate plan to ensure smooth traffic flow during celebrations of New Year night and to ensure public safety as well as curb traffic violations.

Under the guidance of Islamabad Capital City Police Officer (ICCPO), Dr Akbar Nasir Khan, Islamabad Capital Police is set to enforce strict measures against various traffic offences.

These include wheeling, participation in car racing, and any activities that disrupt the flow of traffic. Special attention will be given to motorcyclists with heavy silencers, known for creating noise disturbances on the roads.
