Lawyers hold protest in Karachi against Sindh govt

The Karachi Bar Association and the Sindh Lawyers Forum organized a protest, starting from the Sindh High Court and proceeding toward the Chief Minister's House. 

Lawyers began gathering in the Sindh High Court parking area to join the demonstration. The rally was held to protest the appeal filed in the Federal Constitutional Court challenging the Sindh High Court's decision regarding the cutting of Karoonjhar Hills in Tharparkar.

Karachi Bar Association President Amir Warraich said on Wednesday that the ongoing lawyers’ protest is a stand against the Sindh government’s controversial decisions. 

Amir Warraich said that the rally addressed issues including corporate farming, the construction of canals, and the cutting down of Karoonjhar Hills.

“If the government will not withdraw its decision to cut down the mountains, we will continue our protest,” Warraich said.

He further stated that the Sindh Lawyers Action Committee and various organizations across the province are supporting their cause.
