Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) are bracing for a significant escalation as Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protesters continue their march towards Islamabad, with large crowds expected to converge on the capital city.
The ongoing protest is part of PTI’s campaign against the current government, calling for early elections and political reforms.
As the protestors approach Islamabad, security measures are being heightened around key locations in the city, particularly government buildings and sensitive areas.
Authorities have deployed additional police forces and paramilitary troops in anticipation of potential confrontations. Barricades have been set up at various entry points to control the flow of protesters, and checkpoints are being closely monitored.
PTI supporters, led by the party’s leaders, have been marching from different regions of the country, with convoys coming from cities such as Lahore, Peshawar, and Rawalpindi. The demonstrators are demanding the resignation of the government and pushing for the dissolution of the current assembly to pave the way for early general elections.
LEAs have warned that strict action will be taken to maintain order and prevent any disruption to public life. The government has urged PTI supporters to protest peacefully and avoid violence.
However, tensions remain high, as clashes between protestors and security forces have been reported in some areas along the protest routes.
