Lahore: An agreement has been reached for London University to begin educational activities in Lahore, following an offer from Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.

The Chief Minister has outlined a major plan to provide education to children in Punjab from the globally renowned “London University,” while also initiating steps to bring more international universities to Punjab.

On the instructions of Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Senior Minister Maryam Aurangzeb met with the Vice Chancellor of London University, Professor Wendy Thompson, along with a delegation of educational experts from the university.

During the meeting, they discussed launching a semester exchange program. The Chief Minister of Punjab also invited the University of London to open an office in Punjab.

Maryam Aurangzeb stated that Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif is offering scholarships of 50,000 instead of the previous 30,000 for talented boys and girls, with 60% of these scholarships designated for girls, under a transparent system.

The Chief Minister is working to modernize and improve the entire education system in Punjab.

The Senior Minister also mentioned that efforts are underway to improve curriculum, teacher training, and school infrastructure, and under the Chief Minister’s guidance, the establishment of the National University in Murree is in progress.

Professor Wendy Thompson praised the efforts of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif in improving education and governance in Punjab. It is worth noting that London University offers educational services in 199 countries, including the UK.
