M-1 motorway accident, two dead, 10 injured near Swabi interchange

A road accident on the M1 Islamabad-Peshawar motorway near Swabi left two people dead and 10 injured.

According to Swabi Rescue 1122, the crash occurred when a trailer lost control and blocked the motorway, leading to multiple vehicles colliding into eachother. One man died on spot while another succumbed to injuries after being taken to hospital, authorities reported.

Police and rescue teams swiftly arrived at the site to begin immediate relief operations. The injured were rushed to Bacha Khan hospital in Swabi. Medical staff have claimed that five of the wounded are in critical condition. The hospital declared an emergency and mobilized all available resources to treat the injured.

Furthermore, traffic on the motorway was disrupted for several hours before the road was cleared and movement on the road resumed.
