Malir Expressway's Shah Faisal to Quaidabad section to open after Eid, Sindh CM says

Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah on Tuesday announced that the Shah Faisal to Quaidabad section of the Malir Expressway, named Shahrah-e-Bhutto, is nearly complete and will be opened to traffic after Eid.

Presiding over a progress review meeting at the CM House, Shah was briefed on the project’s status. 

Officials informed the meeting that work on the Shah Faisal to Quaidabad Interchange stretch was almost complete, with plans to open this section for traffic immediately after Eid.

It was noted that the segment from Jam Sadiq to Shah Faisal had earlier been inaugurated by PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto.

About 50 percent of the Jam Sadiq bridge construction has been completed, with remaining work scheduled to commence after the completion of the Yellow Line infrastructure.

The EBM Interchange is fully completed, while the southern portion of the Quaidabad Interchange stands 98 percent complete.

The briefing also covered progress on the four-kilometer elevated expressway at Sumo Goth, which comprises 556 piles—517 installed and 39 remaining—and 1,380 girders, of which 520 have been installed and 860 are pending. About 44.4 percent of this elevated section has been completed.

Chief Minister Shah stressed the need to expedite work and directed officials to prioritize the completion of the Jam Sadiq and Quaidabad interchanges to enhance public convenience.

The meeting was attended by Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, Special Assistant to the Chief Minister Syed Qasim Naveed, Mayor Karachi Murtaza Wahab, Chief Secretary Asif Hyder Shah, and other officials.
