Former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Sher Afzal Marwat criticised PTI founder Imran Khan’s sister Aleema Khan for urging party workers to take to the streets in support of her brother's release while keeping her own children safely abroad.
Speaking to the media, Marwat alleged that Aleema Khan sent her children to London following the May 9 protests, when the government began a crackdown on PTI activists.
He also took aim at the prominent role Aleema is playing in the party, stating, “She has discredited the entire party leadership, while she herself faced criticism on social media and became a controversial figure.”

Marwat accused Aleema Khan of portraying herself as infallible, saying that while he respected her importance among party workers, she should lead the movement herself rather than instruct others.
“I don’t have any personal conflict with Aleema Khan, but I am unhappy with her attitude,” he added. “She bullies, incites, and pressures others.”

Marwat has previously alleged that Aleema Khan ran a smear campaign against him with the help of a YouTuber and claimed that Imran Khan had directed party members to block her involvement in internal party matters.
Earlier, Imran Khan had prohibited party leader Sher Afzal Marwat from serving as his defense attorney.
As per reports, Imran Khan communicated to both the prison authorities and the court that Sher Afzal Marwat does not represent him legally and has instructed the prison administration to deny him access to the facility.
