Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz lashed out at the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Tuesday, stating that while good news was emerging from across the country, "only bad news is coming from Adiala Jail," where PTI founder Imran Khan is imprisoned.

Addressing a public gathering in Narowal, Maryam mocked Imran’s letters to Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir, saying he was “pleading to be saved.”

The PTI founder recently wrote multiple open letters claiming democratic avenues had been obstructed, urging the military to mend ties with the public.

However, General Munir denied receiving the letters, asserting that even if he did, he wouldn’t read them and would forward them to the prime minister.

Maryam accused the PTI government of corruption, alleging that Bushra Bibi and Farah Gogi accepted bribes.

She blamed PTI for economic turmoil, increased inflation, and strained diplomatic ties.

She also defended her government's record, citing road construction, health sector improvements, and initiatives like Kissan Card, Himmat Card, and scholarships for students.

She claimed the economy was recovering under the PML-N’s leadership, contrasting it with PTI’s alleged mismanagement, which she said pushed Pakistan towards default.
