Mohsin Naqvi claims 'some elements' are planning to repeat May 9-like riots

Caretaker Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Monday claimed he has tangible evidence that some elements were striving to repeat May 9-like riots.
Addressing a press conference in Lahore, Naqvi shared the information received via investigation agencies, suggesting planning of cluttering law and order situation in the province like May 9.
“Anyone who will attempt to do any action to disturb the peace will have to bear serious consequences and our response will be harder than past, we don’t want to divide the nation,” he warned.
Punjab CM also acknowledged that protest is a right of all individuals, and no one could be averted from their right but legal paths also exists in the constitution, and those who have objections can approach the concerned department.
Interim CM noted that the country could not bear the repetition of incidents like May 9, when supporters of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf allegedly participated in disturbing the law and order situation following the arrest of Imran Khan from a local court of Islamabad in the Toshakhana case.
CM Naqvi appreciated his team members for performing their duties during the elections and said the shutdown of cellular services was ordered by the federal government, and the administration in provinces compliance with the centre’s order.
