Mufti Taqi Usmani disappointed with emergency response to Gul Plaza fire

Mufti Taqi Usmani criticized the emergency response to the Gul Plaza fire incident, calling the failure to control the blaze swiftly “a deeply troubling question mark.” 

In a statement, he urged a thorough and transparent investigation into why help did not arrive promptly as the fire raged which resulted in devastating loss of life and property.

Mufti Sahab described the incident as “extremely tragic and shameful disaster for the nation.” He was sorrowful at the number of lives that were lost within hours and how hundreds of traders suffered loss of billions of rupees in the massive fire. 

He claimed that improving the safety and emergency measures is the government’s duty. However, he praised the efforts of the rescue workers for their tireless efforts. 

Mufti Taqi prayed to Allah for mercy on the victims and for comfort for affected families.
