“Muslim actors face life threats in India:” Fawad Chaudhry reacts to Saif Ali Khan’s stabbing incident

Former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry voiced his concern over the fate of Indian Muslims in India amid the rise of Islamophobia under the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Chaudhry's remarks came in the wake of the stabbing attack on Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan, which occurred during a burglary attempt at his home in Mumbai.

The incident reportedly occurred at his residence in Mumbai's Bandra in the early hours of Thursday, around 2:30 am, when an intruder entered Khan’s home. The actor engaged in a scuffle to prevent the burglary, during which he was stabbed.

The Hum Tum star underwent surgeries and is currently receiving further medical treatment at the hospital.

"Saif has six injuries, two of which are deeper. One of the wounds is dangerously close to his spine," said Dr Niraj Uttamani, COO of Lilavati Hospital.

The Hindustan Times reported that Khan suffered multiple injuries over his body. However, his back is stable following surgery, and he is able to move his hands and legs. His condition remains stable.

As of now, no suspects have been arrested, and police investigations are ongoing.

Several Indian media outlets confirmed that Kareena was at home with their children, Taimur and Jeh, when the incident occurred.
